UFC 281:
Adesanya vs. Pereira is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will take place on November 12, 2022, at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States.
A UFC Middleweight Championship bout between current champion Israel Adesanya and former Glory Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira is expected to headline the event. The pairing previously met twice in kickboxing matchups. The first in April 2016 which Pereira won by unanimous decision. Their second meeting took place at Glory of Heroes 7 in March 2017 which Pereira won by third round knockout.

Alexsandro Pereira (born 7 July 1987) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and former kickboxer, currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). In kickboxing, he is a former Glory middleweight and light heavyweight champion, and also competed in promotions such as It’s Showtime and SUPERKOMBAT Fighting Championship. As of July 18, 2022, he is #5 in the UFC middleweight rankings.
Pereira was ranked #1 in the kickboxing middleweight and light-heavyweight rankings as of February 2021.
On September 3, 2021, Pereira signed with the UFC. He made his promotional debut against Andreas Michailidis on November 6, 2021, at UFC 268. He won the fight via technical knock out in round two.This win earned him a Performance of the Night award.
Pereira faced Bruno Silva on March 12, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 203. Pereira outstruck Silva for all three rounds and won the fight via unanimous decision.
Pereira faced Strickland at UFC 276 & Pereira won the fight after knocking Strickland out in the first round.
Pereira is scheduled to face Israel Adesanya on November 12, 2022 for the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 281.

In kickboxing, he is a former Glory Middleweight Championship title challenger. As of 12 April 2022, he is #3 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings. Adesanya is scheduled to face Alex Pereira on November 12, 2022 at UFC 281.
